Just wondering, what will this do to horsepower, lugging power, etc?

All it is, is a "ROCKET" govener. You can get them at a CaseIH dealer and save yourself some money.

You could re-work it yourself and do as good as what he does. Order a 65 lb. cot spring out of McMasters, stick a screwdriver between every other coil and twist so the spring has a little working room. Presto----you got it unless the linkage is worn. Then you need to do a little more tweeking plus adjustments of the 1/4 in bolts.

Deadeye, How do I contact McMasters? I never heard of them. A cot spring? Any certain length? Are you saying that the spring needs to be more flexible? I thought that replacing the spring with a stronger spring made governors work better and that they get fatigued and need to be replaced or are you saying that the cot spring would be too much and needs the relief to work properly? You can e-mail me if you do not want to post your reply. jbradley@mwci.net
