I have some type of step head pistons in my Farmall M. Will that cause a problem if I would mill the head?? It just looks like the piston would hit something. If it won't affect it how much would you suggest to mill off. Thank you for your time!!

Do the play dough test as mentioned earlier, do not use a 450Lp head with these pistons, I did not realize the pistons were hitting the valves until it was too late, the valve seat broke on #3and crushed the piston. It was not pretty, I went with the M&W piston and everything works great.

Pull head, insert clay, reinstall head, turn over by hand. Check things out.

I saw on tv that a way to check your clearences is to get a pease of soft soudering wire and stick it in your spark plug hole turn and turn the engine over slow. The wire should flaten out when the piston pushes up aginest the head. That is an easy way to tell how much room you have to mess with. Larry
