Yes, Deere 720s make a pretty good pulling tractor. They don't have the RPM and wheel speed potential of many other brands, but Deere Waterloo-built two-cylinder transmissions, differentials and final-drives are all but indestructible in most of the models. If I'm not mistaken, a 720 has a low first gear (1.5 mph) that makes it a good contender even without doing a bunch of work to the engine. A good, stock engine has more than enough power to easily spin the tires in first gear, so you can weight up and go in first in the heavy classes to pull alongside tractors with more horsepower. They'll complain that you're too slow and holding up the pull, and they'll scream even louder when you pass them, but as long as you're the one writing the checks, pull whatever you want.
