I was reading some of the discussion pages and ran across the fact that you pull an MM U. Just curious what kind of U it was and how it pulled. I believe your name was Jennifer Werner? I have a U among other models and like to hear about other MM pullers and their machines. Other folks welcome to comment on their MM's too!

Thank you,

I don't pull a U, but I do pull a 1954 UB. Ken put a picture of my tractor on the website, not the best but not bad, it looks better in person!
It pulls quite well for what I have in it, and I have a lot fun with it! Likes sandy Nebraska tracks, not Kansas power tracks!

I looked at the picture. Very very nice. My old stock U pulls very well in loose conditions. Not enough power for power tracks, but that is changing right now. New engine is on the way. Nice tires Jennifer. 18.4x34?. My U is a ugly wreck, but it really turns some heads when it pulls and especially when I beat people. I did pull on spongy sand in Battle Creek. It did quite well at 2nd place. I might have a UB diesel coming soon.

Look in Yesterday's tractor MM photo gallery for a picture of Jen and her UB. Both are good looking models.

Jerry,
I think I probably saw you. I am a friend of Doug Henderson, another great MM guy. I was there talking to him at prarieville this year. Chad Maxwell is another guy from the area with MMs. I don't remember if I had my U at Prarieville this year or not. I did have a brown Jet Star at Lake Odessa. I remember a GB there I think. I have had my U at Barry County Fair and a 1939 John Deere H too. You might just see more of the U this year if all goes well. I pull with Clintonia antique pullers around Lansing in places like Westphalia, Fowler, Eagle, Ionia, and Sunfield. I will probably see you this year. Keep in touch Jerry!

I have never pulled at any of the places that you listed. I know Chad and Doug. somewhat. I think that Chad lives around Hartford. I wanted to pull Sunfield along towards the end of the year but something came up. One of my nieces is engaged to a young fellow that pulls Sunfield with a Super M. I told I was going to get with him over there next summer and kick his you know what. Doug. hasn't got me yet but he is a good engine man and may this coming season. I supervise the pull at the Barry Fair every year and I am the treasurer of the Barry Co. Steam & Gas club.

I was at Doug's after work last night. I mentioned your message and he said "Jerry"? I said "yeah, that's it". Chad is near Lawton. I have been at the Barry pull with my U and JD H. Doug is a very good engine man. I am buying a tractor from him soon. What is the name of the fella with the Super M? You probably know LeRoy Cook. He has some case tractors and his prother Rex has MMs. Rex lives close to me. We have the corner on the MM market in our neighborhood you could say.

Leroy also has a Moline (Its a little sick but he will get it running better. He is one of my best friends. I beleive that I talked to you at Prairieville last summer. Are you the guy with the Moline that didn't do well the first time it was pulled but the next time it had improved a lot. I beleive it was a Jetstar. I am the guy that has a bunch of finger missing. My nieces boy friends name is Roman. Jerry

Boy, I don't remember. I pulled it just for exibition because it was too new. (1960) It pulled ok, but I was just foolin around. I had just taken over 1000 pounds off the thing. I don't think I ever took it to Prarieville, however I have had my U there. It died on the track, but I fixed the fuel problem and it pulled better. I do remember the name Roman. Leroy's brother is one good neighbor of mine. I think Leroy is more of a Case tractor guy. I look forward to talking to you this pulling season!
