which would be to my advantage in a 12,000 pound farm stock class with a 1066? Would fluid filled rear tires, make a bracket on the back to hold hang on weights, or wheels weights on the back?

Thanks again

I have better luck hanging weight as far back & as far forward as the rules will allow.

You fluid guys are missing the point. How can I add or subtract fluid in 75# increments from the front or side of my tractors? We pull 3 stock tractors from 4500# to 9000# classes and still are light on the soil when making hay. Younger brother rakes hay on his place with a Ford 9600 with cab, fluid and INSIDE the rim cast weights on! Wonders why rain water runs off his fields instead of down through soil. DUH! Also am tired of waiting in line at the scales while a fluid-filled tractor driver berates the scale operator because he weighs 20# over limit! Sold/traded all my 150# wheel weights so we can balance the tractors efficiently, front, sides and rear. DISCLAIMER; this is only my experience and you get what you pay for!

I use fluid but usually set it so that I am about 100# or so lighter than my lightest class. I have some hang on weights that I can use to make the difference of the scales up with. Seems to work pretty good except for the vibration and I think I just figured out what causes that.:) Looking for some Oliver wheel weights now so I can do away with the fluid anyway.

i don't think that you will like the vibrations that the fluild will make when you are pulling.

Is that what is causing mine to do that? I wondered if it was that or the fact I have mine set out to about 100 inches. I have noticed that right before they break loose and spin they will vibrate a little. Might try it up at Murray this weekend without the fluid and see although it will cut me back a few weight classes.

Yes to all of the above:) Right now I am using fluid in the tires just because Oliver wheel weights are hard to find around here but it seems to work real well. I am sure there are alot of other folks here who have been pulling longer than me to give you more info. I'll be following this one myself and hopefully learn more!

Hang on weights on the rear or wheel weights are the best. #1 reason not all scales weigh the same and you can't adjust your weight for scales or for track conditions with fluid. art

Actually, if properly set up, fluid can be changed. A local tire dealer has a 5020 JD that he pulls. He has a pump on the truck. He uses regular tap water so he doesn't have to haul any water. He just dumps it out when he is done.
