I know this is a controversial subject but I still find it interesting. What are some of the ingenous ideas you guys have witnessed or heard of.

Like using aluminum weights on the front to fool the other drivers. I saw a while back a post where a guy was using a forced air fan in the breather. I also heard about a draw bar hitch that was designed to move upward after pressure was applied to it.

Personally I like to read about how folks cheat or run in the "gray" area not to learn how but to learm what to look for. Makes me feel a little better if they beat me knowing that they have to cheat to do it. Besides it is fun to hear the ingenious ways it can be done!

What's the matter with you guys? None of these things are cheating, that's just tractor pulling and I love it.

What about putting Helium in the tires to keep the tractor light and making class?

About the biggest cheater I've seen took 2 V8 Ford heads, cut them and made a 6 cylinder head. He made the intake and exhaust manifolds. His wife pulls a Ford that also has a homemade intake manifold.
The most common cheating is fuel and spring loaded hitches. The hitches pivot up as they are pulled back.

Sounds like a sore looser to me... If you are going to pull you need to know how to play the game.... And apparently you havent figured it out yet... Sounds like cross stitch would be a good sport for you....and PS; the v-8 head thing is OLD if you are going to BI_#H get some new material.. Tired of sore A$$ losers

Set your PTO clutch pressure light enough to slip at around the rated HP. Will burn out the clutch but you can run a lot more torque than factory without 'proving ' it on a dyno. I suspect several of the local MM guys have this one down.

On a diesel, regear the PTO to lie about RPM. Hard to do on a gas when a $30 tach will show the problem.

Polish and ported intake on "stock" tractor? Correct carb # with polished (oversize) venturi and jets?

Heard tell of an MM where the guy gound off the head casting numbers on high compression heads then built low compression numbers on with weld. Finally got caught when someone had him pull them and the chanbers were wrong.

Naw, I pull for fun not pride. Just impressed with the ingenuity. Personally I don't want my PTO clutch to burn out, don't want to spend $50 on plates to get a $15 trophy.

The JD's win most of the local pulls.

But the MM's seem to have the the most obvious but unprovable changes. Unless my ears decieve me I've heard them run about double rated RPM but not show it on th dyno.
