I am thinking about using a jerrys plug in head cylinder head,a roberts carb. comp grind camshaft. seen a early post that only had 1 reply that head didn't make much differance 1hp on a stroked G didn't say how much it was stroked or any other mods on engine. My G is 6.250 bore 8.5 stroke thinking about using jerrys plug in head and big manifold and roderts carb camshaft may be having roberts rework my carb. also would like to here how well these parts work first thanks for any opinions

If you want a cam ground send it to Berry Cam Service, Inc. in Lester Prairie, MN (320) 395-2377. I had a cam ground for our 70 gas and was very impressed. They had about an eight day turn around and I got the cam ground for stock RPM but more power, had the lifters resurfaced and it cost $144.00 shipping included. The 70 went on to dyno at 67 hp with .045 over gas pistons and stock stroke. I did some work on the head, intake man., exhaust man. as well.

Do not send anything to Roberts as they are more about sales and getting the money, than quality.
Run a stock cam and open the carb up yourself!!!

Wendel, I would for sure get your carb opened up to the super 51 size. My brother found a 5 hp gain on just a stock stroke G with the bigger carb. I don't know if I would go to the expense of the Jerrys head and manifold though. If you port your head and manifold put a reground cam and big carb on your G you should be able to get close to 85-90 hp.

If it did not take so long to get it back,I would let Roberts do mine.Is there anyone else doing this with a quicker turn around time that is TRUSTWORTHY?I just don't want to be waiting on my carb when the first pull comes around.

I wouldn't. Jerry's head (plug in head or not) and manifold are really too much for your setup. You've got to have massive cubic inches before you can utilize his stuff. Get someone who knows what they're doing to flow your factory head/manifold/carb and you'll end up a lot better.

I think that the post you're refering to about the 1 hp increase was switching between using the plug-in-block to the plug-in-head, both using Jerry's head, which is about what I saw on my A. Mike
