Since opinions are free..... ..... You can always add some material to the valve side of the rocker, which changes the ratio. As far as the lift goes you just gotta figure out that yourself because of head gasket thickness, built in duration and overlap of the cam, depth of the combustion chamber. If you have a deep chamber you might not have to worry about it at all.

As far at the comment about the intake only..... .. I wonder how many established pullers told the cam grinders to only regrind the intake? You can get more lift by having the heel of the lobe ground so thats a way to get more lift. If you change the rocker ratio then you need to move the rocker bosses so the wear pattern stays in the center of the valve, be sure to keep the entire geometry reasonable.

I totally dissagree with the intake only but I understand his point. Blow down does a lot of the work getting the exhaust out of the cylinder. But at 10 crank degrees BTDC with a higher lift than standard helps. A few degrees after and still a slightly open valve might help scavenge. IMHO

I have seen some BIG horsepower gains by making the exhaust lobes smaller. This allows for bigger intake lobes without increasing the overlap.
It all has to do with the RPMs. These are not car motors.

Call Murphy's at 573-696-3655 and get a set of higher ratio rockers. Or, take your rocker set to a good machine shop and have the valve side distance increased so that the ratio is about 0.2 more than stock. Good Luck.

NO NO NO its the push rod side that you want to move.Have that side shorter so the valve will open farther,BUT only on the Intake arms leave the exhaust alone.

i am thinking. get more gas in, more power. get more exhaust out, more power. you buy aftermarket rockers for car engines that are the same ratio intake to exhaust.just want an explanation.

THATs the mistake that people make they try to relate Car Crapp to tractor engine,on low RPM motors intake is the most important, you need to get all the cyl.fill you can the more dense the charge the better,OK?.Now exhaust is LESS dense so it flows out easy,Then theres over lap comes in to play and thats a hole new subject, but very few understand the physics of cam dynamic formation application.
