If you are going to replace the pistons, get High Altitude pistons, or order pistons made to give at least 7:1 compression...original compression is 4.65:1..... I am SURE you will get more than 2 HP increase.!! RPM's can be increased to equal the 520..about 1,325... May check to see if you can use 520 "LP" pistons...!!!!!

I am doing the same with my '52 B. I've been told to have the cam ground, polish all the ports in the head and manifold and maybe use an A carb. Boring the bloc .125 over and installing aluminum pistons will only gain you about 2 HP. Doing these things is much less expensive than installing a power bloc, which would cost you $1200 alone. Talk to Robert at Roberts Carb Repair in Spencer Iowa. He knows a lot about pulling. Good Luck!
