I have a regular stock 450 and I would like some ideas on what size of tire to run. I have the choice of 15.5x38,14.9x38, or 16.9x38. What size and brand would you all recommend. Thanks,Mark

If original, run the 15's. If you are pushing 60 horsepower, shouldn't hurt to run 16's. Load her down with 16's with a bunch of weight, might snap the torque.

The TA is out on low side now. Any ideas on replacing torque to make it heavy enough to withstand the 16.9 and alot of weight. Looking at pulling 5500,6500, and 7500 at the local town pull just for fun but would be nice to be somewhat competitve. By the way, Rule is low gear or 3.5 mph. Thanks Farmall Daddy and to all else who responds. Mark B

Have to replace the torque. If you do, run the 16's if you want to pull in the 7500 class. Make sure you have enough power. You can usually pick up a torque kit for 800-900 dollars. Having a mechanic install it is what costs the most. I have seen guys load a 450 down with 8 wheel weights on each side and yank the torque and snap it. You could pull pretty good with 70 horsepower. If you don't know how to get the power, bore it and run your piston along side the block. Many 450's are doing that now. Thought of doing it to my M, but was too late. Good Luck!!
