I have a 1947 Allis that I pull with it has a E Gleaner motor in it. I am having problems with it pulling when it gets a load. Is it in my govenor or could the carberator be my problem. Do you have any suggestions out there in what I could do. I have not yet took the govenor a part. I wanted to get some input before I went through all of it. Please help me. Thanks

What does it do? Does it spit and sputter, like its in the carb or does it "surge" like it could be in the actual govenor its self? It could be a lot of things like if you use cheap Mexico points, it will run alright till you hook it to the sled. Need more details.

Adam,
I have alot of expeirince with these gleaner motors, what you have to do is change the front cover,by this i mean put the cover from the original wc block on the gleaner motor.

Adam, I might not be any help but if you give some of these guys a few more clues they might have an answer.

Do the rpms simply just fall off. Does the motor sound like it just doen't have any power and refuse to hold its own when the box starts transfering wieght. What does the exhaust look like when you get a load on it.

check the weights and pins if there is any slop in this .the govonor wont work right.also check the thottle shaft to make sure it works very free
and doesnt have a stiff spot in it.all so open thottle wide open and check the peice of linkage to the card to make sure it is free and if it is stiff bend the govonor rod till it is free.
