Is it possible to pull the sleeves out of my 450 (gas) and bore the sleeve for a 4 3/16" or 4 1/4" piston and reinstall them? My 450 has about .050" clearance on the pistons right now. There are only two ways I know to fix it, one buy new sleeves and pistons, two bore the sleeve to a bigger size and get new pistons. If this will work, were can I get the bigger pistons?

If you need more horsepower, the guys in my area are running their 450's w/o sleeves. That is what I would do if you don't use it other than for pulling.

if you are using a 450 block you con bore the block out 4 3/8,s you can,t run any sleeves. the block holds up very well. there is many like this in are area . there is some out there that has had 150 to 200 hooks per year for 6 years and still running very strong

My neighbor has a 450, and he doesn't put sleeves in his motor, and he is cranking 116 horsepower. Seen him put the motor together myself.
