I have a 41 farmall m that has ih firecrater pistons, an 8060 head, electronic ignition, k&n air filter, 400 cam, and a few small things done to it. I have pulled it in 65 and 7500 pound classes with 16.9x38 tires with fluid. I don't think it is pulling to its potential. What are a few other things that I can do to it to increase horsepower. Would it benifit me to take the fluid out and pull 55 and 6500 pound classes. Are the tires too big? Any info would help to get prepared for the summer, while I have time to work on it during the summer.

I run the same setup in 4500-5000-5500, with 15.5s and I never run out of power

Turning 16.9's on a power track is tough on most tractors especially if it is not stroked.I would remove the fluid and get me some Armstrong 15.5's to help the gear ratio. You could get you some extra weights to compensate for the removed fluid. Our rules state that we can't pull under 6500 lbs with bigger than 15.5's but 6500 and up 18'4's.Good luck.
