Which 660 should I look for, gas or diesel? One of my friends has a diesel with a M&W turbo on it and he cranks 98 horsepower. In my area, turbos are usually not allowed. I imagine you can do more to the gas than the diesel. What do you guys think?

Hey...To all you guys building up your 660's and wondering if they will hold together...I've got a stock 660 diesel that I farm and pull with that has beat every 830 John Deere that I've came up against...so at times you dont need to build them up to send them to the trailer with their tails dragging between their legs!!! But sure would like to see one with a Turbo on it!!!!

I have A 560 wheatland diesel with the T606 turbo on it, ran it on the dyno and it put out 115hp.

Your hp will depend on how much you turn up the fuel.
Generally more fuel more power till you run out of air.
Remember they only hold together so long with this kind of HP.

If you can get 98 out of a 660 D than I would say that's the way to go! I have never heard of anyone getting anywhere close to that much out of a gas 660, or a 660 period. That would be pretty impressive!

Easy its a gas c 301 with up draft carb running 132 octane. we built it to the max using the best parts steel crank alum. rods Arias pistons Extensive head and valve work ect. and we had it dyno tuned on an automotive engine dyno... Never know you might see it show up in your town..
