I am building a tractor for the 3500 and 4500 lb antique classes. I am going to bolt my hook point on the bottom of my drawbar. Will 3 bolts 3/4 of an inch in diameter be enough to hold the bottom piece? The pieces bolted together are 1 inch flat bars. The hook has a u shaped piece welded on the outside. Also would ready rod be enough or should they be grade 5? Thanks for the help.

get hardened bolts. I use the ones that have a gold color to them... not sure what grade they are off hand without looking. A good way to adjust the height is to buy bolts that are longer than you need and buy washers to fill the space between the draw bar and th hitch.
