Get it as light as you can, 44s will make 4500 lbs without too much trouble. Even with a stock engine, you should be able to run 3.5 mph in 1st gear with 15.5 tires and open rpms in this class. You may want play with the timing a bit to try and smooth it up at higher rpms. I would take the tube off between the carb and the stock air cleaner to help her get air. That is about all I can think of that is quick. After that, start throwing dollars at it. :-)

What kinda track are you going to be on? What kinda motor mods have you made otherwise? If it is a stock tractor, I dont think I would try second gear unless it is a loose track. Especially at 3.5 mph. At that speed, you will never open it up completely. I would stick to first gear and open it up. But, your best bet would be just to build a big motor (500++ CI), run a set of 18.4 38's on aluminum rims, grap 3rd and just play with it. Do that in 4500 to 6500 pound classes. Whatever you do, just beat the Farmalls and Olivers and make us all proud (I wouldnt worry about the other green ones too much)

good luck
