Why is it that people dont go to the dealers who build pulling tractors. If i wanted a chevy car a go to a chevy dealer not to my neighbor In the end all these people end up spending more money to get what they want instead of inquiring more before they start.

I used to work at a CaseIH dealer, most of the mechanics don't think anything like a stroked pulling motor will ever run. What they have to realize is these motors aren't factory shelf built motors and will never run the hours that a normal farm tractor will. That and who wants to pay $50-$65 per hour for a pulling tractor. We all know how many hours building a pulling tractor takes.

So, do you have a list of "Dealers" who build pulling tractors? Is there such a list? Whose machines are always in the winners circle in your area? Pro-built? Who is going to tell you what they are running anyway?

Most people I know and associate with, myself included enjoy building their own engines and have built many proven/competative and winning machines. Anyway, we could not afford to pay someone else to put the same amount of hours we put in such a machine.

Most "Dealers" I know of would just bolt in somebody elses parts anyway, not even knowing what they are bolting in. Now there are a few of these "Dealers" who are very knowledgable of building machines and these are the same guys that run the bridgeports and lathes, know how to profile a cam etc. and run their own machines. They know what is needed going down the track.
