It all depends on the rules you will be running under. The 1650 head and manifold set is a nice step up for a stock 88 or a small increase in cubes. How much power are you looking for? 340 (4 1/4" bore) and 360 (4 3/8") cubes is fairly reasonable to build. The next step up is 400 to 420 cubes by offset grinding a Super 88 crank (2 7/16" rod journal) to a 77 journal (2") or finding a Massey 1100/Waukesha 195 crank (2 5/8")and offset grinding it. Past this you will need to have the crank welded up. Let your wallet be your guide.

A lot of people use the 1100 massey head. I believe it is the 195 gk waukesha head used on the 99. It allows valves sizes in the range of 2.02 and 1.65. Carb size should depend on rpms turned in my opinion. You can go as big as your wallet will let up to around 600 ci. Then you have start moving things.

You can mount the 1100 intake on it or some of the other deisel intakes work well turned upside down.

I got to admit the dust thing was good, but you know why they paint olivers green don't you, so you can't see them hiding in the weeds while the real tractors are playing.
