does any one know if you can weild the gears together in a ta to stay in the low side all the time.my ta is out.wondering if this can be done.tight budget....thanks

9 Times out of 10 it is the ramp and rollers that are bad. Like the fellow said in pre post, It's fairly cheap to fix but alot of work. Also check to see if the TA clutch is not bad and thats not slipping. I've seen the ta presure plate lose a finger and not let it ingage. There is a plate on top of the ta housing that you can remove and see the clutch and pressure plate. Hope this helps.

the planetary gears only turn when the ta is engaged.

My t.a. started slipping in the low side. All it ended up being was the rollers in the planatery. You can't hardly tell there is a flat spot on them but it doesn't take much to make it slip. Only cost about 10 dollars in parts but alot of work to fix. Good Luck.

I think if you weld the planet gears together and leave in direct it will work.Hope some one else reply's to this with more help.
