I have a 1953 Super H and weigh about 3800 pounds.
I need to loose about 300 pounds to get into the 3500 pound class. It has pressed rims with cast iron hubs. What can I do to loose weight without spending to much money???? Also what is the cheapest power you can get?? Thank you.

take out the pto assembly, get rid of the stock hoop draw bar assembly. take off the double front wheel assembly and make a single wheel bracket out of 1/2x4 flat steel. I was able to get mine into the 3500 pound class and still run 1 75 pound weight. if you still need more weight off remove transmission cover and make one from alluminum or I have seen some made out of ply wood! weld on steel hubs are good for 40 puonds also.

I assume that you took the belly pump out. If not do so! If your not worryed about having lights you can always take them off. If you have weight brackets made out of steal you could change them to aluminum. Thats all I can think about as far as the weight.
As far as horse power you can get a electronic ignition, hotter coil, you could have some head work done to it. Its not too cheap, but not that bad. Have you blocked out your governor? If not e-mail me and I'll tell you some pointers. Other then that you kind of have to spend money. There is no such thing as cheap horse power!
