I had the same situation, I was told to just put a brass fitting on it, it was just a breathing tube and did not have to be connected to the oil bath air cleaner. I was told this by a former IH mechanic who now pulls with an M. I have had no problems since I did this.

I am having trouble with the oiler tube under the valvcover,it has a small hole that provides oil for the rockers.

Just put in a brass fitting on the head .without capping it off, I get plenty of oil on the rocker arms without the tube. Crank it up with the valve cover off and you will be able to tell if you are getting enough oil on everything.

The tube for the oilbath was hooked up to a fitting on the outside rear of the head.the 450 oilbath is hooked to the valve cover I think?
