hey, how much does a power trol unit wiegh?I am thinking about dropping it and the pto off the back.Its on a B john deere,,,,thanks

I would go with the Flatback cover, because you can get the most weight loss, plus some rules require a working PTO. That's the route I took on my JD-A.

powertrol unit ways 70 lb rock shafts 10lb a side piston unit and arm 10 lb casting sleeve assemble is about 15 lb flat back is best way to loose most weight alluminum is even more and if you put a plate on where the power trol was take out upper gear in pump and put some fluid in for lube on removal pump upper gear allows use of pto without pressure

This last weekend I changed my JD B Power-trol and rock shaft from a 1946 B to a flat back. I saved about 200 pounds per my wife's bathroom scale. (She didn't appreciate the grease and oil on the scale.)
