There is a chance we will pull our 1066 in a farms stock pull this weekend and since it will be our first time I was wanting any advise you could give me. The tractor runs very good, probably around 170hp, but the pump has never been touched. We are going to swap the 20.8x38 BF Goodrich radials (50%)off our 6788 to put on it and it has one set of wheel weights. The tractor also has a cab and and dual hubs and currently five suitcase weights but that is easily changed. I'm not sure what weight classes they will have at the pull but where should we try to pull and how should we balance the tractor. Thanks for any help.

Cliff, I see alot of stripped down models pull every week in the 9 and 10 thousand pound class. With out a cab, pressed wheels, and a narrow front off of a farmall M they weigh about 8500, but on out of the feild with the wide front probobly will go around 12,000 pounds. The radial tires may bounce alittle with you, so watch for that at the end of your pull. It sounds like you have all the power you need. That front cast piece in front of the radiator probobly goes around 300 pounds, and with your wide front, you may not have to add so much front weight, but I cant tell you for sure. I've honestly never seen a stock 1066 pull Good luck, and post back with how you do. Later, Greg H.
