Well I usually am on the Orange page and am not a puller, at least not yet, however I have a question. Asking for a couple of friends who pull an H. They are trying to get it below 3500 lbs. as the rules have been changed in the Antique or stock club they are members of. If they can't get below that wight they will be pulling against tractors up to 4500 Lbs. Anyway, the question is, they want to get rid of the castiron wheels and use steel wheels to save some weight, does anyone know of some parts that will bolt on to allow the use of steel wheels? Hub from another make of tractor?? What wheel?? Can it be done?? Thanks to anyone who has any information.

The old steel cutoff wheels should weigh less than some of the steel disc wheels that I have seen but in some locations those solid disc wheels would disqualify you because they are not stock whereas the spoke cuttoff wheels would be stock

I used to have a Super H that I pulled in 3500#. I still have the hubs that I used to mount the pressed steel. E-mail me if you are interested, I would sell them and be happy to share some other ideas for getting the H down to 3500.

There were a lot of H's that came out on steel during WW2.

Do you mean steel disc wheels, or steel rim/tire. These folks are looking to replace the stock H cast spoked wheel/hub with a hub and bolt on wheel or wheel/rim assembly. Which should be lighter than the heavy looking cast wheel.

I was thinking you were wanting to know about the old steel wheels that had been cut down and rubber tires mounted on the rims. Sorry.

I don't know the axle size for an H, but there are many running steel press rims and hubs.
