I HAVE BEEN PULLING ANTIQUE TRACTORS SINCE 1975-2000. I HAVE PULLED ALL OVER THE EAST COAST AND SOME OUT WEST. I HAVE HEARD THERE WERE SOME GOOD PULLING TRACTORS IN PAGELAND. SINCE I LIVE NOT TO FAR FROM THERE I DECIDED TO GO TAKE A GANDER. THE WERE SOME PRETTY NICE TRACTORS THERE LIKE I HEARD THERE WOULD BE. BUT, IN ALL MY YEARS OF PULLING I HAVE NEVER SEEN A TRACTOR PULL KINDA LIKE THIS ONE. TELL ME HOW CAN A TRACTOR OUT PULL ONE TRACTOR BY 5 OR SO FEET AND STILL LOSE. I HAVE PICTURES COMING TO PROOVE MY STATEMENT. THERE WAS A JD 720 PULLED THE SLED I FORGET HOW MANY FEET, THEN FOLLOWED BY AN 06 FARMALL WHO WAS A FEW FEET BEHIND WHERE THAT 720 SPUN OUT. SOMEHOW THE 06 WON THE CLASS. NOW TELL ME THAT AINT SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT. ONE MORE THING, I SAW A SUPER M FARMALL THAT HAD AT LEAST 15 GRAND IN HER. HOW THE HECK CAN A TRACTOR OF THAT CALIBUR PULL IN A "STOCK CLASS". LAST TIME I CHECKED A SUPER M FARMALL DIDNT COME FROM THE FACTORY BORED OUT AND OVER STROKED. SHOULD HAVE BEEN PULLED IN A "SUPER CLASS. BUT OH WELL, THANK GOD I DONT PULL DOWN THERE.

I've helped with some pulls for an organization that uses laser surveyor equipment, the sled may not be pulled straight or start from the same spot, but we always get the straight-line pull distance

I have pulled many different places including with SATPA alot and everytime a red tractor getts beat they don't say a word but good pull but when a green tractor gets beat by a red one they try to make up things by saying the red pullers are cheeting I don't understand that. That happen a lot when you pull a red one.

Are you sure that you weren't watching a percentage pull where the tractors weight is factored against the distance pulled to get the winner..the heavier tractor has to pull farther to win...just a thought...

Some people just can not understand how the sled works and should keep their mouth shut and just take it when the O-6 beats the green tractors and quit looking for ecuses. Everybody gets mad when Little Bit Cockey beats them.

You guys are not alone! TRUE STORY; It was during our 150th county fair pull. 5000# stock class. A friend of mine pulled an IH W-6 about 270 feet. The fair board official picked up the flag post and marked where the W-6 stopped, and the announcer stated the pull distance. A few tractors later, my best friend pulled his Oliver 770 about 10 feet further down the track. The same fair board official moved the flag to the new, farther location and the announcer read over the PA the new leading distance pulled by the Oliver 770. Guess what? The person in charge of WRITING DOWN distances wrote down the Oliver's distance as 50 feet less than he pulled. Yes, we humans do make mistakes, if we didn't, someone would hang us on a cross and pierce our side with a sword! My best friend got over the incident, but my other friend has the trophy. We're all still friends and still pulling! Don

It is true. I was there when the above incident happened. But people will make mistakes. That's just part of life;I just hated to see that pull end that way.

The sled was probally started in a different spot for the two tractors. We use to have this problem till we spoted where the sled started. Mike

The sled is spotted in a general spot. It has a footage counter that is the official distance indicater. If a rig pulls in a straight line the distance will be close to the markers. If you pull in a serpentine fashion you will go further on the counter. thus the different look. I know from riding the sled lately that many pullers choose to wander on the track to find the sweet spots, me included. I agree with Big Daddy, if you see a situation fix it then not next week when it is pure speculation (I said, she heard, you said). This is all in fun anyway and if we can't have fun then we should just stay home and cut the grass.

Maybe the 720 dropped a wieght or was disqualified for some reason unknown to you.Yeah see you point about "hot" tractors pulling in stock classes.Last saturday we pulled against some olivers that usually pull in open gear classes and some oliver 88s with 1650 motors.I cant see how I could feel good about winning a trophy that way.But thats fine, thats thier choice I guess.
