As a member of the NATPA who has attended several pulls this year I thought the Columbia Missouri pull was very smoothly ran. From the sign-ups, to tech testing, to hooks, to the line-up, and even the meeting on Thursday everything went off without a hitch. Congratulations to all the new officers and class winners. Thank-you to all those involved with the pull for a very fun time. I would recommend joining this organization to anyone.

Join this organization????
Before you recommend joining the NATPA, maybe you could answer a few simple questions.

Has the Bill Bear problem been fixed?
Has the IH RPM problem been fixed?
Are they teching ALL tractors?
How much are the hook fees?
Where is the money going?
What heads and manifolds are legal for Div 3?
What heads and manifolds are legal for Div 2?
Are they checking ALL tractors in Div 2 & 3 for the right heads and manifolds?
Are they checking fuel?
Is the E80 fuel legal?
When will ALL the members get to vote on the rules?
What is has changed in the past 3 months to make us want to join now?
Why has the NATPA membership dropped? TELL US ALL, WE WANT TO KNOW.

OK What???,

You have a lot of interesting questions and concerns about the NATPA. It seems that you and Bill Bear have a lot of different opinions. I didn’t know that he was a problem. About the I.H. problems, they all have issues. You ask about the money concerns, at the meeting the board handed out the financial statement that explained where the money is going and coming from. About the manifolds and heads, you must be talking about the Oliver Boys. This matter was talked about and settled; also all tractors which participated in the pull had to be tech tested. Concerning the fuel tests that you are inquiring about I didn’t see anything that stated you could not use the fuel in question. At the meeting on Thursday night the members had their chance to change any rules for Div 3&4. Fortunately no changes came about. The thing that made me and others join is that everyone who has a tractor to pull is held to the same level playing field as the tractors in their division. I believe that the drop in the membership is due to the price of fuel/gas to travel to all the pulls. To sum up my conversation about the NATPA, it seems that you were once or may still be a member. As a member I feel that the NATPA is doing a good job to keep the playing field level. I think that I maybe cleared up some of your concerns about this organization. Maybe you should finally come to the meeting and express your opinions there instead of complaining on the NET were nothing gets done but a lot of crying. I hope that I told You what you want to know!

NO you didn't answer my questions.

Bill Bear pulls a tractor that would be illegal for anybody else. He gets away with it because of who he is. When will this be fixed?

The heads and manifolds I'm talking about are the John Deere / Kansas heads. It is common to see them in Div 3 and Div 2. The tech inspector seem to look the other way when checking them. WHY?

Yes there are IH RPM problems and Mr Bear is right there in the middle. Maybe Bill only cares about his POS tractor and not the good of the club. WHEN WILL THIS BE FIXED?

I'm still laughing about the financial statement that they handed out. Do want to buy some land in Florida?

How can you say that there are no fuel problems if the fuels are not being checked? If they don't want to check the fuel, get rid of the rule.

Why can't rules be voted on by ALL members? How hard would it be to send out a ballot on the rules?

The NATPA has always been run by a few self-centered people. They are more concerned with their own personal interest that making the NATPA a better club. The drop in membership is from puller getting tired of the NATPA's BS.

The NATPA has sucked in the past. WHAT HAS CHANGED?

Hey What,

I never said I had all the answers for your statements. I think that you just need to call the Tech committee and the officers of the organization to find out the correct answers to your questions. I don’t think that you can tell when one looks at a Jerry’s head on a tractor. I personally never saw one on a tractor. I know to find a part # on my G you have to take off the valve-cover to get the #. I don’t know if they have # cast into them or what. What is so bad with Bills tractor? I didn’t know there was a problem. You must pull in Div. 5 to know all about this tractor and know something is up. About the drop in membership, the last member to sign up was # 1230 or higher. I’m at loss for words because you have a lot of issues with the club. I don’t know where you are from or what you pull, but the NATPA just is not the club for you. You need to voice your opinion to the board of directors and other officers and not me thanks.

Stroker G; you sound like a typcal NATPA puller. You go to a pull just to have fun and because of you love to pull tractors. It is easy to put your blinders on and not notice all of the NATPA problems. Mr What is just wanting you to take off your blinders and notice what is really going on. If all the NATPA puller would pull their heads out of the sand and start to notice what the truth is, maybe these problems would get fixed.

I am not going to get in a pissing contest with you. I was just asking a question and maybe I went about it the wrong way. I am not questioning if NATPA is screwed up and it is highly possible they are. NATPA is the only club that comes far enough west for us to pull at during the Winter months. The way I see it is as long as I pass Tech and know I am not cheating I could careless what everyone in my classes are doing. The ones that cheat there day will come and then again maybe it won't. As for the NATPA as long as they provide a place to pull I will probable go.

I too share your enthusiasm for pulling and I have pulled with NATPA several times. I had a good time and placed well.(2nd)I am a current member(it expires this month) but I doubt if I will renew it.I know they have rules and they must be enforced.....but the rules should apply to everyone!!!And the exact reason you stated is the reason Natpa can do as they please with little or no accountability.Tractor pullers want to pull so bad,we will put up with anything to get our fix!!!In the winter NATPA has the monopoly, but there are a few beginning to challenge them.Mean Green Pulling Team, has a pull every Dec. in Tunica,MS...the same time NATPA has a pull in Nebraska. This past year NATPAs attendance was down, while MS was up!!!
Ever wonder why NATPA stops in April? Other pulls begin and attendance would be ZERO!!

PS I DONT LIKE BEING CALLED A WHINER!
