What springs work for beefing up the clutch in a 4020. Would 4630 ones work or does someone make heavy ones for pulling. Also what would be the best disc to use, and should I remove the pto if I am going to run 3000rpm.

Are you dealing with a synchrorange or powershift tractor? Powershifts also use a dry disconnect clutch that can slip in high-horsepower applications.

Jason, A 4630 has a hydraulic type clutch (Perma Clutch), No springs in it to hold clutch plate engaged just hydraulic pressure. Use clutch springs for a 4320 as they are a little longer and stiffer. You could put one washer under the spring also . It will make a pretty stiff clutch pedal. The other thing you can do with these old John Deere dry clutches to give them a little more help is engage the PTO when you are going to pull with it as the pressure from the over center action of the PTO clutch is applied to the traction clutch. Good Luck, Dave W.

YOU can put a washer or two under the springs to have more holding power and put the pad disc in.

How did you cram 702 cubes into that little gas block? Those pistons must be only 3/8" of an inch apart.

By pad do you mean ceramic or the standard disc. The tractor is a syncro also.
