Ok i installed a gleaner e combine motor in a wd. Now do i have enough power to use the 16.9 x 26" tires off the combine. And run at full rpms "wide open" an will it hold togather? What kind of hp would it have? I ran a bone stock wc last year like this but with 12x24" tires and it worked real well just a little under powered. Or should i try to run farm stock with the orignal tires on it at stock rpms. Please give me your 2 cents worth. thanks to all.

I was considering running an E-3 combine motor in my '47 WC. Found out that the combine motor was only 4 horse more than just oversizing the pistons in it. In your case you should carry 47-50 horsepower. Basically you have a D-17 motor in her right now. I know a guy that pulls with me and he did the same thing, but he doesn't know how the balance the weight according to how you front end will raise. If you balance you weight out good, pull in the antique class and chances are you can be a good winner. Good Luck!!

First thing test it on a dyno. If you can get 50 hp it should handle the 26 in tires easy.

Today my freind and i were able to test are tractors on a good neighbors dyno. My E3 WD 17 showwed 48hp and my freinds ih 400 was 58hp. What a great way to spend a saterday with neighbors and freinds just befor the pulling season starts in Mn.
