Thinking of pulling

I am looking for a little advice from you seasoned pullers. I would like to start tractor pulling and would like to use either a farmall 560 or a farmall 560 diesel. Which would be the better tractor? I am aware that the diesel would be more expensive but would it be a better performer? Or would you say I am barking up the wrong tree with the 560? Would I be better off with an M or superM? Any thoughts would be helpful. Strictly red ones. Thank you in advance.

The M would be more versitale than the 560, if you going to pull with more than your local club, because of the year of the tractor, for a 560 is to new for many clubs. You can start cheap with the M in the lower class's and as you learn the tricks of pulling spend as you go. If your pulling a 560 go with gas unless your goal is to end up in the hot field class with a turbo motor. If you go with a 560 you can run a 301 motor from an old combine and biuld from there. Just my 2 cents have fun

It depends upon the type of pulling you want to do,( how stock or hot and how deep your pockets are). In my book, it is hard to beat a Super M, (4cyl vs.6cyl...cheaper to hop up). You can start in the Div 1/farm stock classes for not alot of money and gradually work up the food chain, improving your tractor and your pulling knowledge. Much cheaper to get started with a 4 cyl gas than a 6 cyl diesel. Good luck and have fun!!!
