I am new to pulling olivers wondering if anyone has any good ideas for more power. I have a 77 gas with the engine out and apart. The block was cracked I'm getting ready to put it together. The rules say I can do anything to the engine as long as it looks stock. Any help would be great. Thanks in advanced

you can put in a set of 3-3/4 in 770 pistons. Don't waste your time or money boring anything. The power you want will be made in your head. Take your head to a machine shop. Port, polish and shave some surface off. Get the bigger 770-1550 intake and a bigger carb and there is your 70 horse 77. The little things will really count. Proper jetting, timimg and ign set up will help too. If possible, tune your motor on a dyno This is probably the cheapest, easiestway to ensure your tractor runs at its 100%....GOOD LUCK 770

Super 88 3.750 sleeves and pistons will work. 3.875 M&W sleeves bored to 4 inch. Have to bore out the block to fit. Really thin but will work. Off set a 770 or super 77 crank for early 77 rods. 2 inch jor. Gives you a 4 inch crank. A 4X4 motor will give you around 65 to 75 horse. 770 to 1550 head will work. If the block is cracked between the sleeves, don't worry about it. A 5 inch crank will fit with out grinding. You can go as big as you want. 545 cu. is possible.
Good Luck!
