What can I do to beef up my 400D. I am allowed by club rules to run up to 30% more HP than stock for the stock class. I know what to do for a straight gas engine but for a gas/desiel I have not a clue. I know about the fuel pump timeing but was wondering about aluminium pistons, thinner sleeves, milling the heads and having the heads re-ported and polished. Is it possible to do these on a desiel engine? I plan on having the engine completly overhauled anyhow so why not beef it up. Any ideas are appreciated.

Do what you can to get more air flow. Port the heads open up the intake remove stock air filter. You can increase the bore size. Mill the head just enough to clean it up. make sure your injectors and pump are in top shape turn the fuel up in the injector pump. increase your RPMs as much as allowed.Getting the pistons is your biggest problem they will most likley need to be custom made keep as close as you can to the shape of the top of the piston. keep compression height the same the bigger bore will increase your compression.
