Disappointed in Club's Decision

As a club member I am disappointed to know that our club had to buy two front rims for the puller from last week's message "Club responsible or not?" Basically, the puller talked the decision committee into paying for the rims. He claimed he could not see the pile of dirt on the track. (At this same arena there are regular motorcross events, demolition derby, etc. so it is a WELL LIT AREA.) However, this past weekend at the driver's meetng before the pull, the club decided at all future pulls the club will not be responsible for any damages. I cannot believe the puller even asked for the club to pay for the rims. I think this decision was a joke! P.S. This past weekend this same puller drove his other tractor out of bounds, dropped the front end, and slightly bent one rim.

I heard about this insident and felt then that the front rims he had were way too light weight for the intended use and should be considered unsafe, now you say that he bent one by going out of bounds?? I feel that any club should ban using such light weight wheels for safty reasons befor he kills him self or worse...someone else.

I'm disappointed to in your club's decision. If a person decides to stroke and cut their crankcase down to make rod clearance and under a heavy pull, the tractor brakes in half(I've seen it happen),would your club be respondable for that too.You pay your hook, you pull at own risk.Com'on Guys "GET REAL".

If he had blown the engine would he expect the club to pay for that too.

Why would he have blown an engine?,DO you sissy's use lightweight parts in your engines too. BOy I tell you what, back in my day you could run a tractor all day sometimes on mooshine and she would barely get hot enough to melt the manifold and hood, and that's with no motor oil. You bunch of sissy's need to learn how to build real motors and stop messing around with that lightweight sissy crap.

I think OLDGEEZER drank a little too much moonshine before he came up with that reply

what kind of rims you all using, back in my day we used steel rims with spokes as big around as your weener in them. Well heck you couldn' bend them things with a sledge hammer. I remember one time I drove my old tractor off a cliff and killed the dog that was sitting on the fender, but it never hurt them rims, I think you sissy's with your new fangled tractors should learn to make them stronger and stop using that sissy lightweight material.

Did your tractor have one of those Sterling hot air engines in it?
