Ok guys, I'm trying to get an antique pull set up for the summer. The first one in our area. What I am looking for are some basic rules and regs.
as in:

What weight classes?
How new is considered antique?

I'm in Ohio is there a standard set of rules that the state association uses?

Any help is appreciated

You have alot of good clubs in your area. Check the Antque Tractor Pulling web site. You have to decide if you want a Farmers Pull, or a certain club rules pull, like cut or not cut tires, tire size, you will need scales, trophies or cash, and so on. Ask your local sled man what is popular in your area. He would have the best idea, and could help you out on what kind of pull to have. The best advise I could give you is to get as much help as possible. 400 people will be all for the pull, and full of big ideas. But about only 4 people will show up to work, and to help out.
Good Luck!

I am the new president of the Ohio State Antique. I have been pulling for over 15 years but this if the firs time I have actually been in charge so I know what you are going through. The OSATPA, OVATPA, and the COATPA all use the same basic set of rules, but there are some small differences with tire size and speed. Anyone that has been pulling in Ohio pretty much knows what Div 2, 3, and 4 is so that is how I would start. If you want to do some hot stock like turbos and v-8's, I would suggest getting ahold of Larry Mouser from the Central Ohio. The COATPA is doing alot of the hot tractors. If you want help with antiques, let me know. We can bounce ideas off each other. Good luck.

Ryan Hatfield, President OSATPA
