Weather permitting--CKAP is hosting a 50% payback pull Saturday at 6:00 central time in Leitchfield, Ky. There will also be two $50.00 bonus classes drawn that night. Check out our site for classes and directions. Will post again if rained out. See you there.

I pull with the CKAP alot and I think they have the best pulling club around. Everyone else is afraid of the insurance companies or are too scared to pull with the chance of rain. I don't think that $2 is enough to complain about when most of us have at least $10,000 invested in our pulling tractors alone, not counting the transportation to and from the pulls. I will always come back and pull with the CKAP group because they are the only one's around that will put effort into putting on a pull. They take tremendous care of their track and always treat everyone I know as their friend.

SEE YOU TONIGHT!

First I want to say that I am as guilty as anyone else is about what I am about to say.

It doesn't make much sense to complain about the poor paybacks or cost of travel (some travel all day and half the night) when we are spending ridiculous amounts of money (and we had better hope that our wives DON'T find out the true amounts) to pull. I saw the other night someone had a "M" 517CI engine, used, for $10,500. Other people are posting on this site that if you don't have at least 100hp for Div 2 or 3, leave it on the truck. On one post, some guy hit a small pile of dirt on track at 10+MPH, broke an aluminum front rim, and expected the pulling club to pay. What kind of money did he spend to be able to pull at 10MPH????? ?? It seems like if you don't own a bank, a machine shop, or have an engineering degree you don't have a chance.

If we spend all this money, travel for hours and DON'T win, are we still having fun????? Maybe we need to go back to 1st gear only, no cut tires, 18.4x38 tire size max, (there are probably 7 billion of them around yet) no pulling in weight classes under the origional shipping weight of tractor. What are your thoughts????? ?

I know and agree with you--but you have to understand, the club is partners with someone and we have to do what it takes to keep on pullin'. I assure you that changes are in the works--but we did not want to cancell the season over a $2.00 increase. The club has worked on an incentive for the pullers--there will be an extra $50.00 bonus in two classes per Leitchfield pull--to help make up for the gate increase, this will rotate until all classes has had the bonus. As always--we welcome any suggestions on how we can improve things.
