I was wondering if there was somebody from ITPA out there who could help me with a rumor I have been hearing.

I have talked to a few people over the winter and they told me that Indainhead was talking about only allowing 1 pull per tractor in farm stock classes, no more adding weight to pull the next class. Is this true?? It is sure going to suck to haul my tractor for an hour for 1 pull.

Thanks for any help.

I could be ready, all I need to do to the Super M is built bigger weight bars-sick of 150# wheel weights, but I don't think it is worth my time to haul it to Ridgeland. Ridgeland seems to bring in the "power", lets say, guys I normally pull against don't do well down there. My first pull will be in Roberts Wis. The Super M is "pretty much" farm stock.

I will be sitting in the crowd watching the other guys. Doesn't help it is an hour away.

The open classes don't start to the 6500 unless your talking about hobby stock classes-they start at 4500. Open classes are the V8 powered machines. I don't know what they get for prize money if they win, it depends on each pull. To enter should be around 15 bucks. There is about 10 tractors in the classes on average (hobby stock).

In the hobby stock classes where you can run wheelie bars, cut tires, unlimited rpm's, I see a lot of 460 farmalls, I know of four that pull every time. And there is a few Olivers that pull also, not many john deeres, couple 4000's in the heavier classes.

Hope this helps.

The paper lists the classes as such-

Tractor Classes:
4000 non turbo
5000 non turbo
7000 non turbo
9000 non turbo
11000
13000

Open
5000
7500
9000

Modified
5500
6500

I think this pull lists the hobby stock under open-you were right. You might be able to sneak it in under the normal classes-you will have to see if you get it there.

Hope this helps.

Yes, guys, it is true. Only one hook for farm stock tractors. Everyone is sick of getting out at 2-3:30 in the morning from these pulls! If the pulls go beyond midnite, the board reserves the right to limit hobby classes to only one hook also. This is something being tried this year, we'll see how it goes.Dale.

Thanks Dale, that is all I needed to know.

At least 5 out of the 8 I go to will allow us to pull twice. I understand the 3:00 in the morning thing, like Roberts where there are 300 hooks but it is tough when you spend $600 bucks on IH suitcase wieghts. I guess they will have to go on the front of the 1206.

where is a small pull that i could go to toget the first time wrinkles out of my 77oliver farm stock? it won't be together for a few weeks, and i have never pulled befor.i live in new richmond. i am guessing you with that super m will be in the same weight class as me 4000-4500.

Roberts tractor pull is Friday May 30 and it starts at 6:00 p.m. It is a pretty big pull, about 300 hooks that night. Last year there was 26 in my classes, the 5500 and 6500#. You will luck out in the 4500, there is 12-15 on average in the class.

A good small pull to try first is the New Richmond FFA pull in July. They just started it last year and it was a lot of fun. They only allow pure farm stock tractors. It is the second weekend in july during fun fest.
