Allis WC governor question???

I'm wondering if the governor spring from a D-17 or a spring from a WD-45 will work on my WC.
Don't worry about me ever having to compete with you, I'm in AZ and don't intend to travel to other states... LOL

It always helps to start in the correct gear. I don't understand why second gear in a "M" will blow the horn but third gear in a WC won't.

my stinking M blows the horn in 1st gear I can't even open it up, I have to idle all the way out the track and I have 18.4x34's.

Yes the spring will work. You can actually use a spring out of a 170. That is what i have in mine.
