I am fairly new at pulling and I was wondering if the Co-op super power plus is a good pulling tire or not. Any comments or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks, Joe

I started pulling with a Firestone and a Co-oP mismatch pair of 15.5-38's of equal tread. The tractor always pulled to the Firestone side. I found a near match Co-oP and the problem stopped. I have no complaints about them. Good Luck

I have a pair of BF Goodrich power grip and just bought a pair of CO-OP tires. I can't tell any difference between the two. Are they the same tire with different names? If so, the goodrich powergrips have worked well for me I would think the coops would too.

Had a pair of 45 degree 13.6x28" Co-ops on the 435. Had to keep them highly inflated to limit wall wrinkle/sag and the tread bars bending over. Must be air pressure rather than belts that give those tires thier shape. Firestone 6 ply 13.6x38 weight 112lbs.

A few sprints up the track isn't going to wear the gears in the 4500lb class. Or day in day out in 2rd to 4th gear for thousands of hours if kept to manufacturs recomended weight.
The field use tractors carrying 1500+lbs of ballast pulling a 3-16 plough lugging along in 1st or 2nd gear. All day with low grade trans lube with maybe a little water and dirt would wear the pinion gear down. A little much with the 2-53 Detroit, they couldn't de-rate it below 33HP. The rear end was made for a 3500lb/26HP gas tractor. A 530 or 630 load doesn't belong on a 430/435.
The parts book replacement R&P for the 1010 below serial number 31,000 has the origional 435's part number but is far beefier. Fits 420's after the slant dash,430's,435's and 440's too. Is 15% slower as well.
Running Amsoil 2000 series racing lube and some high pressure moly additive. No problems thus far.
The post 31,000 1010's with inboard final drives will fit a "W" chassis 435 and slow the tractor about another 15%. Would like to pull in 2nd or 3rd instead of 1st & 2nd. The front is awful heavy with the Detroit, will need a long stiff drawbar to lever weight onto the back tires. Got beat last year with the drawbar up short on a sticky clay track and 9psi 16.9x30 Firestones. Still didn't lift the front end. Even a full length drawbar and 20" hitch on a limestone track won't lift the front.

Joe, the Co-op tires, if they are the 30 degree type, are a very good tire for pulling. They are also one of the lightest tires, size for size, that there is. So if you are looking for a good set of tires these should work good for you. Hope this helps. Mike

Thanks for all the replies. I have just one more question. How much air pressure should a person try on these tires? Thanks, Joe
