Wondering what you guys think a new set of 18.4-38 8 ply Firestone 23 degree tires would do in the 9,000-13,000lb. farm stock classes. The tractors we pull against are pretty much stock except for a little smoke. Some places we pull have a speed limit also. Anyone out there using them? We pull against a 1066 running them and he is usually the tractor to beat. Anyone else have any ideas? Would the 6, 8, or 10 ply tires be the best? Just can't find a good used pair of tires at a reasonable price, so we are thinking on this option.

Bryan, Thanks for the duct tape on those tires I bought from you at the Columbus pull. It really made my day to peel it off and see daylight through the tire. You didn't seem to be the type to intentionally hide damage. Shame on me for thinking you were trustworthy and not checking the tires better. Hope you get run down in the street.

I run a set of 20.8/34's on my tractor and I go from 7000 to 13000. I love mine. As a matter fo fact we do well enough that I had a guy tell me that I was using " illegal professional pulling tires" the other day.

Are you running new ones uncut? What ply are you running and how much tread is left on them? Thanks for the info.
