i am proud to say i witnessed an amazing thing on
this past saturday 5/31/03 at the oakboro tractor
pull when a pulling organization (SATPA) took the
time and patience to do something i have never seen anyother pa group of any name do. They let a
94 year old man live out a wild dream of his past
youth when they let him pull a antique superclass
tractor (MASSEY FERGUSON 98) down the track at full throttle for a full pull. I know all this sounds a little crazy, but this is where it all
gets so heart touching. The tractor was backed up
and hooked to the sled before the elderly gentleman was helpled up on the tractor and stayed under the constant eye of a very helpful
man on the tractor who not only stayed on the tractor at all times but helped with the clutch
and the throttle to give the man the ride of his
life for a man of his age. If you could have been
there to see the look on this man's face as he
crossed the finish line, it would have brought tears to your eyes. Who of us can not say that there was something I would love to do but am too
old to do it. My hat goes off to the man on the tractor who helped this elderly man's dream come
true and the ease and patience you had to make it
look like it was a walk in the park. My upmost admiration for a pulling organization like SATPA
that still remembers what life is all about and
taking the time in a very adverse day of bad weather you had to deal with to still bring a bit
of happiness and joy to someone else. I only hope
when and if i reach the age of 94 that there will
be organizations around like SATPA and it's staff
of great people that will let me live in my youth
for a brief moment. GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU !

I second that... at first I thought Mr Eudy might be scared...but the look on his face when Darrell York popped the throttle of the MIGHTY MASSEY was a life changing event for everyone there Sat. And thanks go to Darrell Plyler for allowing the dream to come true!
