Thanks! I might get a wc with the mag (neighbor has one, cheap) do they make a stamp steal center for the rims, or will I need to buy full rims? Thanks again,

I am running 49 wd with 13.6-38" on rear. I weigh 170# and can run 3300#. If you go with 6 loop pressed steel 28" rims you can get close to 3000#. You have to strip hydraulics and pto.

It is very easy to get a WC below 3000lbs as long as you don't have any fluid in the tires and have a magneto ignition. WD/WD45's are much heavier..you really have to work to get below 3500. my 2-cents worth

I pulled a 36 wc last year. It was bone stock an it would not pull 38" tires no way no how. I used a set of 12x24s off of a high boy sprayer and a string to the govenor with the hitch as high and forword as legel. And had a lot of fun with it. ps i only used the string when i needed it or when the chain was tight. lol

Theres a guy that pulls locally in our clubs that runs a "WC" in 2750#. He uses the old spoke rims, and uses a magneto so he can take the battery off to pull. I dont know if I've seen him lose in that class. As far a not running 38" wheels You won't be outmatched by any means, I run my "WD" in 3500# and it weighs 3400#. I do my fair share of winning. Even the stock Allis Chalmers are a tough one to beat so just have fun!

A WC pulls very well in the 3500 lb class any heavier
and you'll be out classed unless you can run 38" tires. Any lighter and you're not balanced right but can still do alright on a good biting power track.
WD probably can't get below 3500 WC can.

i got a 33 wc allis. it pulls 2700, 3200, and 3700. i got a set of pressed steel rims, 28 inch and welded the centers in out of a pair that bolted up. we alos made a draw bar out of 2 inch square tubing with 1/1/2 in side. then we took the narrow front and cut it off about 1 inch from the bottom of the channels. then we got a rear wheel off of an old versatile swather and welded it on. with one gallon of gas, and the brake covers removed, i got 16lbs to spare. i weigh about 160.
