would like to know how much weight I would lose taking off my rear housing cover and changing to aluminum. I have already changed to pressed steel rims and was suprised my 52 A lost a little over 500lbs. would like to get down to 4500lbs. my A weighs right around 4930lbs. to 4960lbs. any help would be appriciated.

thanks

If you are not worried about keeping the battery under the seat, you can make a 6 lb. sheetmetal rear cover and then make a seat post out of aluminum or conduit (sp?). The stock rear cover with rockshaft and powertrol I think weighs 250 lbs, so a sheetmetal one should lose 240 lbs or so, minus what it takes to make a seat post.

I dont know what class,or organization your pulling, but some wont allow the changing of the rearend cover or factory seat mount. This may not apply to you, but I know how bad it SUCKS to drive 200+ miles to be informed of the rules, its better to check.Lots O Luck!
