I agree with the few below. Find the worst looking worn out 18.4 38's you can find. Those guys with the 12, 13, and 15 wide tires will be crying about how u out pulled them. I bet they have 18's on theirs, just wanting to steer u toward a small tire. Best bet is to check the rules for the classes you want to pull and run the biggest tire they will let you. There is a reason for the tire limits, bigger is better.

Now if you were pulling on asphalt, a set or wore out 12's might be enough. At 600 cubic inches, you should blow them off the rim though!

bigger is better

12.4X38's should work great on your "big" G. I would say low gear through the 6500 and you'll definetely power out before spining out!

I would have to agree with the guys below. When I bought my tractor the guy had Brand New... 18.4X34's on there. Firestone, 23 degreee all tractor MEATS! They look great...

BUT!

In the June, and July tracks... they suck! Warm... loose tracks, not good at all. Too much bar, and to many bars. But in August, and September... cool night pulls, damp tracks. Cant beat um! I am running about 600 too, and have the power to spin these in 2nd, on a dry track... do we have the same problem?

Check and see what your local pulls say rule wise on the tire sizes allowed. I use 16.9 x 38's Armstrong's wide angle bar tread that is 1/2 worn, they hook up well in 5500-7000# class. If your using 34's I wouldn't go with anything less the 18.4 x 34's. If you have 600 cubes you could probably use 18.4 x 38's. Armstrong's (which are now called Titan's) and Firestones' about 1/2 worn make good pulling tires.

A nice set of 18.4 38 Armstrongs(now Titan)aged and roadworn would be a good choice.I currently run 16.9 38 Firestone Super All Traction that have done a good job for my 53 G.Setting right next to a set of 18.4's,there was only an inch difference in height from the 16.9's.Good luck
