I would like to have information on a light weight front end. Also a light weight transmission cover. And any other place I can take off weight. I have stamped wheels on it right now. Thank you for any information

Ed

I HAVE NOT HEARD OF A LIGHT WAIT TRANNY COVER FOR OUR TRACTORS. I TOOK ALL THE HYDRALICS OFF,FABRICATED A FRONT GAS TANK MOUNT OUT OF 1X1 SQUARE TUBING,THREW AWAY THE OIL BATH AIR CLEANER,FABED A REAR GAS TANK MOUNT,DITCHED THE HORSE SHOE IN TH DRAWBAR, RUNNING NO GENERATOR(YOU MUST TAKE A GENERATOR TO CHARGE BATT BETWEEN ROUNDS) GOT RID OF THE LIGHTS AND LIGHT BAR,NO POWER STERRING,AND I MILLED THE WEB OUT OF PEDALS,LEVERS. IF ITS GOT A BELT PULLEY GET RID OF THAT AND MAKE A ALUMINUM COVER PLATE.KEEP THE PTO, ITS LIGHTER THAN THE BELT. AS FAR AS THE LIGHT WEIGHT LOWER BOLSTER , DENNYS HAS ONE BUT I DONT RECOMEND IT(NOT FROM HIM ANYWAY)

Donkster what weight did you get the super m ta down to? I have a single front wheel. I'm thinking about fabricating the steering bolster and cutting casting out of the front bolster but i'm not sure if it is worth the effort. Because I don't know how much weight it will take out. I seen a super m with the cast pedastal removed and a 1/8 in. aluminum pedastal fabricated, I have no idea how he designed the clutch forks to work, or if any flexing on the rear end would cause any damage.

To be honest Ed I dont know what it weighs yet.I havent had it on the scales yet. I'm still tring to get her together after a long winter of teardown. I still have the cast iron centers all the way around. would like to find a set of pressed steel for the rear. As far as hogin out the upper bolster You arent gonna gain much. The legs on it is already hollow. About the anly thing you can do is take out the hand crank junk pretty easy to do. I did check on fiberglass hood and grill. Brian Wood dont have a mold.He said about a $1000 to make the . To Pricey.Fabing alower bolster is a low buck diet. Just gotta find the spindels and hubs from a trailer place or you could use a set from a ford or chevy 4x4 but no later than 87 on the chevy thats when they went to IFS on truck 91 on blazer and suburbans . that is if you dont mind 6 lug

did some of the same things but I kept my alternator, and brake pedals stock, have alm. weight brackets, and gas tank(because of rust in stock 1), made a drawbar that bolts to the pto(25lbs?), cast wheels all around(460 bolster), no pto or belt pulley or hydralics or power steering, no air cleaner, no lights or light brackets, its a 39 M(susposed to be a lighter casting, get into 4500 easily
