Im going to build an all out open tractor. Any suggestions on building the engine for the 400. I was thinking about an engine kit from Dennys?? I would like to go with something a little cheaper though. Any suggestions? Let me know, Im curious what you guys think. Thanks, Jeff

An all out open tractor won't be cheap. If you're serious about a Farmall, go with Lemmon's.

Im really in need of some advice then. I was going to buy a stroker kit from Denny's but after reading the forums maybe I won't. I need to find another outlet to buy a performance stroker kit for a Farmall 400. Or do I have other options? Please let me know if anyone has any info. on this matter. Thanks alot, Jeff

Never used Dennys, but know several people that have, they were very dissapointed.I have heard a READ at least 3 dozen seperate incidents. There was a 1/2 page or more on here not to long ago...nothing good!Check the archives under Dennys.I cant say personally, hopefully they have got the problems resolved.Just thought Id give you heads up.Because one circumstance that kept occuring, after someone purchased something if there was a problem,Dennys wouldnt even talk about it.FYI only.

I am not for sure how big you want to go with your 400, good choice for a tractor in my opinion. I have never seen any of Dennys parts up close and personal but I think he is not out of the ball park on the price for a short block for a 6.5 stroke M. I don't belive that you could get good results from his parts right out of the box, but it may be good if you modified them and carefully tuned the carb, cam distributor, head, and compression ratio you may be able to get good power from one of his kits. I am trying some custom parts that I built my self, on Ms and so far so good. good luck
