I pull a '39 M farmall in the 4500 through the 6500 and i am 15 but have pulled since i was 11 or 12 with one of our 450's, biggest problem i had was remembering to tighten the chain OOPS.Good luck

If you can find one, my choice for a first time puller would be a Montgomery Wards. Smooth running 6 cylinder and with the fluid drive transmission that's real easy for a first timer to make an easy start off of the line. That's what my son will start out on when he gets old enough.

What do those tractors look like? I have a neighbor that has a weird looking tractor with a 6 cyl in it, it is a row crop tractor, narrow front with 38 in rear tires. It looks like a coop/cockshutt but it is not. I think the original paint color was silver.

I'll probably catch flak for this, but I'd recommend a late model JD A with the creeper gear. Slow on the track, no chance of getting nervous with the foot clutch, stock engine shouldn't power out in low, lots of options for different classes and movable weight.

Any of the Allis Chalmers WC, WD, WD45, C, B, CA. The all pull well and at around 1700 RPM you aren't blazing a trail! Plus the look a lot better than the others!!!

We have let a lot of people drive our ford 600 who have never pulled before. Easy clutch, good balance, and they feel safe inbetween the fenders. Its a fun ride & with a strait pipe @ 2400 rpm [10%over] it sounds neat. Ours is very compeditive even with a novice driver.

The main goal is safety! If you go through the past posts you will find a real good message that will give you the advice you are looking for. I think the post is titiled "First pull with farmall H" who ever wrote it was very helpful, and had the best advice for a first time puller.

A Case VAC is a nice tractor for a new young puller

I am still very young, but pull a JD A and G for the last 4 years. Soon I will pull a moline. anything that is a foot clutch should be easy, or it it has a GOOD hand clutch.

I don't know if you like red tractors but my first pullingtractor was a Farmall Super H. I still pull it today, I let my wife pull it, and she has only drove it twice ever, she won the class, and was very comfortable driving it. good luck

My boy has been pulling a Farmall M since he was 11 years old. We have had a lot of fun watching him pull. He is 13 years old now.
