Hi from upstate NY.. I recently acquired an Oliver 70 in pretty ratty shape that I think I can get to run...Should I succeed, any thoughts on its suitability as an antique class puller? It already has cast iron weights on both sides of each rear wheel 38 inch rims, and a neat brake system. I'm looking to just do whatever to get it running sweet, replace the rotted tires, and put wheelie bars on it and go have some fun. I have this strange mindset that wants to have the ugliest tractor there but still do halfway ok. I also have a fine VAC in similar condition already running with decent tires but rotted rims that could also be used..and I know better than to bring my 2N to a pull;-)

Anyone know dates for pulls at Washington County Fair, Schaghticoke Fair, Or Bennington Old car show pull? Thanks! If you see a rust brown 'Liver 70 with only a left fender, you'll know it's me!

Thanks! This is the antique pull, right? Don't wanna show up to play with the big boys..

And to the respondent who suggested an alternative pastime.. Shed? What Shed?? If I could afford a shed, I'd be pulling some shiny big dollar monster tractor! :-)

Hello,
My guess would be leave it at home in the shed beside the 2N.
70's were pathetic stock, so you take a tractor that doesnt run, make it run on 3 cylinders and take it to a pull.
I tell you what take that 20$ intry fee and go buy a case of beer, you could have more fun with a case of beer and a 2$ hooker then pulling a 15 horse tractor

I bet I know what you pull, and its not a tractor. You can stay home with the $2 hooker and the beer leave us guys alone at the pulls to have FUN,even if it is a 15 hp tractor it's better than blowing $20 bucks on something you will p*ss out in the can 2 hours later. Rich B

At the same time you are bashing you should also remember that most of us do it for the fun. Not everyone has mega money to go thru and do everything top notch. I believe that he said he was going to get it running decent. So it does not have exellent compression and looks like liver. If he has fun and it is on an old tractor regardless of what kind so be it and more power to him. Any time you want to talk trash go spend you $20 at the local Bikers club and lets see how well you talk then. It is all about having fun and lets all try and remember that.
