The GM two stroke is at peak torque across it's entire rpm range. There is no increase in torque when rpm is lugged down from peak HP as a 4 stroke's volumetric efficiency improves. The Detroit is pretty much breathing at max efficiency at any rpm. A 53 series engine at 2800 rpm and four valves will make 40 HP per cylinder with "N" series pistons, sleeves and N50 injectors. Without being overfueled. A 71 series with four valves per cylinder, "N" series pistons,sleeves,N70 injectors and 5% blower overdrive will make 45HP per cylinder Without being overfueled.

100hp per hole but be ready to spend the money.
I have won pulls 12 to 14000 all the time .You
have to use marine parts block that has been bored
to accept silver 92 pistons x 149 marine Inj.
marine cam (advanced timing)4 valve head with
big valves 12v92 blower drive 12v92 fuel pump
with 12v92 hyd govenor 12v92 Inj lines. Everything
has been balanced and teflon coated, will sit
and tach 2950 all day long (HAVE NEVER STALLED IT.)
People said it couldn't be done but a detroit
dealer built it has run 2 years with no problem.

Check the archives on this, I printed some posted items a couple months ago for a bud who has a 99.
There was alot of info about adding hp.
I think 1 post stated he was getting over 200,but who knows. My friends is a good puller. There are a couple of them at the Tunica,MS pull, they only weigh 6000.They really sound and look good, but fizzle out in a hurry. They sure rattle the indoor arena though.
Lots O Luck
