Have been reading through the last few pages of Posts. Being a non -puller seems to me you should just base the classes on dollars invested. The $1500.00 Class--$2500.00 Class ETC--Just a thought.

Classifying tractors your way would probably come
closer to being a fair way to do it than just about any other.

Oh yeah - I can see it now...

Tech Inspector - "Lemme see yer receipts."
Honest Puller - "Receipts fer what?"
Tech Inspector - "Receipts fer yer hi-po parts dummy!"
Honest Puller - "Ain't got any. This tractor is stock."

Yes Non-Puller it is a stupid notion that one should have to spend so much money to build tractors into something they are not in an attempt to be competitive. It's sameful that it takes such a manipulation of the tractors, and takes them totally away from their intended purposes. The reason why I am looking for a tractor to build is that our club attempted to inact rules this year that would allow more stock tractors to pull, and increase safety for everyone. However due to some people that I feel didn't look at the big picture, and the possible expansion of the club, all the rules changes that were up for votes that delt with speed limits, and RPMs and such failed. I ran a bone stock tractor last year, and I had some fun, but I figure it cost me about 100 dollars a night to go to the pulls, pay the hook fee's, and feed a 5 year old all the hot dogs he can eat, I gotta tell you I wouldn't mind placing everyonce in a while, and if everyone else is going to run hot, why should I ruin my perfectly good farm tractor, that I use on the farm to compete. Why not go out and build one for no other reason than pulling. Thats exactly what everyone else does, so that's what I intend to do. I will not feel sentimental about the pulling tractor I build,{if it blows up who cares} after all it's not a farm tractor that I reley on. I also know that I am competing in nothing but a motor sport, not realy "farm" tractor pulling, but that's the reality of it, and should I choose to perticipate, I'll have to play the money game, just like everyone else. The reason I posted back at you was I feel that you are being sarcastic at the notion of tractor pulling being a money game, and you are exactly right, that's what it is, but unless you can find stock pulls, or even close to stock pulls, you've got no choice if you choose to participate. I don't think it's right, but until everyone runs out of money that what has to be done. Sorry about writing a book. Greg H.

I have to agree with Mike it won't work. I have been keeping a folder with receipts on expenses that I have paid out with my JD G. I just look at it as I add more and more receipts and let me tell you that the little lady of the house would have a royal _hit fit. I take that back... she would have a new couch, table and chairs, carpet, drywall, and etc... HA HA

As anyone been nailed with receipts by the little lady? Maybe I'll just burn the folder and eliminated World War III.

burns,

My wife doesn't worry about the reciepts. In fact she has helped me generate a few. She is buying me a set of Cunningham rods for my b-day and told me when it comes time to paint she wants to buy the paint for me. I told her she really didn't have to because after all, she bought me the tractor for Christmas! :)

After listening to years of loud whining from owners of other lesser tractors our ears are very sensitive & sore.
