Catchy title isnt it. I am a novice puller so I dont know the exact limitations of antique tractors yet and I pull a farmall h and am unfamiliar with Deere. Read in an article in Cooperative Partners Magizine today about 2 brothers located in kimball, Minn that restore Deere tractors. One has a 1946 GM that he pulls with and {this is what was written in the article about them} it was stated he stripped it from 6700 lbs to 3800 and went from stock 38 horse to nearly 200 and from 411 stock inches to 900. No lie, it is written plain as day in this magazine. He calls the tractor Grim Reaper and it is painted black and silver. I know of a tractor called The Undertaker that is 721 inches but 900 inches and 200 horse out of a GM. Sounds kinda misleading to have that in an article that all the subscribers will read. Has anyone ever heard or seen this tractor? His brother has a 47 G that is called Grave Digger that is 600 inches. If these sizes can be attained more power to them, I am sure they are great pullers. Just wandering.

900 inches is definitely possible, but 200 horsepower with that 900 is stretching it.

I have seen 800, but 900 has alot done to it to get it...and it's prolly turning around 180hp. I is prolly a 5th gear in the 6000 and down G with any tire it wants..lol.

There is one in Arkansas that is 7.5x9 that comes to just shy of 800 cubes that can pull 2nd on a loose track in 5500, 6500 and up on hard tacky track and it pulls 1st at a whopping speed of 3mph. Its supposed to be 108hp on the dyno. I have seen it power out in 8500 in 1st. H.M.

WOW!!! there is something wrong with that tractor!! 800 cubes should have more then 108, a JD a when done with a 6.125x9.25 can get 100hp.

900 is possible but u aint gonna pull it in the heavy classes. Not with a thin walled crankcase. And as for 200hp Ive built several stroker Gs big and small u arent gonna get 200horses out of it.U might have a better chance with your weedeater.I currantly pull a JD70 745ci it will dyno 110 to 115 .Of course if I stripped it down to 3800# I might think I had 200hp too.Sometimes us pullers will believe anything.Wanna buy a 900hp silverking lol.

I have seen them both pull. I don,t know much about JD either, I think they are brothers. I pull against a 700in G every week, I don,t think it is as strong as the 2 you are talking about though.
