As the rules sit today the 560 is offered little competition from its classmates. In particular untill the cut off year is moved up the John Deere 4010 as well as larger Minnie Mo's and Ollie's which were performing next to each other in the field can't compete at the same pull. As a 560 puller you hear little complaint from me. I am concidering a major rebuild of the 560 seeing as the gas engine is about to puke out. I plan on dropping in the 301 combine engine with a turbo and jumping up the cubes. However, before spending that much time in the shop this fall I am seriously wondering if it is worth it. Once they move that cut-off year I'm gonna be s-o-l anyhow. Maybe it makes more sense to buy a pos 806 and start building it up for the day they move the magic number from 59 to 64 so i can kick the $^^t out of thos 4020's

I don't know where you are at but here in mn them guys went completely loony when the first 560 showed up.i would probably do some checking before i went out and got a 806.with what you are talking about doing,i think the 560 would do ok,you sure won't win every time out,but they will know you are there!good luck no matter what you decide to do.also the 806 is a dry block,on the diesel anyway, the one i used to pull had 440 ci and never had any engine trouble at all.
